OWNER | THERAPIST | LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER

Travis Tanner, LCSW

My practice of science-based therapy is a culmination of years of experience serving many different communities. I started in 2008 as an outreach provider offering sexual health counseling, HIV prevention services and substance abuse interventions. At Columbia University, I completed an intensive fellowship training program in behavioral therapies and went on to serve homeless populations, LBGTQ+ communities, people with severe anxiety and depression and survivors of major trauma.

The foundation of my therapeutic approach is the science of modern psychology. From that foundation, I draw on my experiences over the years to provide a personalized therapeutic experience aimed at producing real results in my clients’ lives. My job is to tailor scientific information to fit a person’s specific needs and guide them through the process of applying that information to improve their lives. I make the process as straightforward and transparent as possible. For me, there is nothing quite as rewarding as witnessing a person’s life get richer and fuller as they gain mastery over the difficulties they are facing.

You have taken the crucial first steps toward change by starting your search for therapy. This took courage! Whether you work with me or find a better fit with another therapist, I encourage you to keep the momentum you have going and schedule a consultation call. Meaningful change is possible!
