THERAPIST | LICENSED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER
Michaela Turnbull, LMSW
My goal is to provide effective, compassionate psychotherapy that allows clients to feel more empowered, present, and meaningfully connected in their daily lives. Whatever difficulties you may be facing, I hope to create a space where you can feel comfortable showing up authentically and speaking freely. My style is validating, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. You are the foremost expert on yourself; I’m here to offer clinical expertise tailored to support you in reaching your personal goals.
I’m a sex-positive provider, and my clinical approach is anti-racist and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I have extensive training in behavioral therapies, which I integrate flexibility based on each client’s individual needs. Previously, I’ve worked in sexual and reproductive health care, college mental health, intensive outpatient programming for eating disorders, and group practice settings. I have particular experience working with folks experiencing body image concerns, OCD and anxiety disorders, as well as trauma and PTSD. Additionally, I welcome clients looking to explore topics related to gender, sexuality, and intimate relationships. I’m a fat-positive provider and I approach disordered eating from a HAES (Health at Every Size) framework.
I understand how important it is to find a therapist who is the right fit for you and your needs. If you’re interested in working together, or curious to see if we’d be a good match, I encourage you to reach out so we can connect!
