THERAPIST | CLINICAL GRADUATE STUDENT
Carmen Wiegandt, Clinical Graduate Student
Everybody’s circumstances are unique, and my goal is to create a non-judgmental, safe, and supportive space where individuals can improve whatever challenges they may be facing. By supporting you to develop coping skills and foster a more positive sense of self-worth, I want to encourage you to move confidently toward your goals. I employ a multi-disciplinary approach that includes DBT and CBT techniques. My therapeutic style is collaborative, authentic, and compassionate.
My early career experience was in community-centered residential facilities for adults and youth coping with challenges related to mental health, addiction and trauma. As a result, I recognized the power of culture and society to influence an individual’s sense of wellbeing. In turn, I also believe that one person can have a profound effect on their community. This is why therapy can be a transformative process that has the potential to positively impact much more than just the individual.
Beyond my professional life I am passionate about sustainability, intentional communities, and the natural world. I enjoy outdoor adventures, writing poetry, and attempting to taste as many different desserts as possible.
Compassionate accompaniment through the therapeutic process is a powerful way to bring about personal growth. I am excited to work with you to help you live life to the fullest.
